Tributes to ‘fun, bright’ boy, 13, killed in crash
A 13-year-old boy, Noah Campbell, who tragically lost his life in a collision, has been remembered by his family as a vibrant and lively individual. The incident occurred on Friday night at 11:50 PM BST in Flitwick, Bedfordshire, involving a car, a bicycle, and a scooter. Two other teenagers were hospitalized with significant injuries. In a police statement, the family expressed their profound grief, stating they were “utterly devastated.” They described Noah as “fun, bright, handsome, athletic,” emphasizing his deep affection for time spent with friends and family. “He cherished his loved ones above all,” the statement added. “Though football was his favorite sport, he excelled in rugby, cricket, and athletics, showing versatility beyond the field.” Noah also enjoyed staying active and exploring new challenges outside organized sports, such as gym workouts and time at the bike park. The family noted: “Noah’s death has left a hole in our lives that will remain forever.” Authorities have charged two individuals in connection with the crash: Jamie Fountain, 24, and Ellie Ireland, 23. Fountain faces multiple charges, including causing death by careless driving and driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs. He is also accused of two counts of causing serious injury through careless driving, as well as failing to stop at the accident scene, not reporting the incident, and conspiring to obstruct justice. Ireland has been charged with conspiracy to pervert the course of justice. Both are set to appear in Luton Magistrates’ Court on Monday. Police confirmed that one of the two hospitalized teenagers remains in critical condition, while the other received treatment for severe injuries and was later released. The tribute came on Sunday as the collision on Greenfield Road was investigated. Follow Beds, Herts and Bucks news on BBC Sounds, Facebook, Instagram, and X.
