Provpnadvice.com – House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.) warned Dr. Anthony Fauci that the presidential pardon he received does not extend to his awaited hearing at Capitol Hill.
The former director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases is set to testify before a Senate panel Wednesday, following Sen. Rand Paul’s (R-Ky.) release of Fauci’s COVID-19 era diary entries , which span hundreds of pages.
“Americans are still reaping the consequences of Dr. Fauci’s actions,” Comer told Fox News Digital in a story published Tuesday. “Biden’s pardon doesn’t cover Dr. Fauci’s testimony this week and if he continues to lie, he must be held accountable.”
Fauci was a part of former President Biden’s last-minute pardons , hours before President Trump’s inauguration. Biden said he was issuing the pardons to protect public servants; he also pardoned officials who investigated the insurrection on Jan. 6, 2021.
“We now know why President Biden gave a blanket pardon to Dr. Fauci. While obsessing about his own fame, Dr. Fauci wasn’t truthful with the American people about the origins of COVID and advised schools to be closed,” Comer continued.
Fauci’s diary entries at the beginning of the pandemic reference the origin of the virus. The two leading scientific theories are that the virus, formally known as SARS-CoV-2, jumped from animals to humans at a wet market in Wuhan, China, or that it leaked from the Wuhan Institute of Virology.
“We know the market was not the source, it was the amplifier,” Fauci wrote on Jan. 26, 2020. “Having said that, somewhere the virus jumped from animals to humans.”
Fauci’s diary entries also discuss meetings on Jan. 15, 2020, with then-New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio (D) and Ann O’Leary, then the chief of staff to California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D), to advise both to close down public institutions, including schools, bars and restaurants.
