Three-Month-Old Girl’s Death Linked to Suspected Dog Attack
Cleveland Police confirmed the death of a three-month-old infant in a suspected dog attack in Redcar. The incident occurred shortly after 1:30 PM BST on Thursday, prompting the deployment of armed officers to an address on Hardale Grove, Dormanstown.
Emergency responders eliminated one dog on the street and another at the property, according to statements from the police force. A 45-year-old man was taken into custody on suspicion of managing a dog that was dangerously out of control, resulting in a child’s fatal injury.
The suspect, who has been released on conditional bail, is now under investigation. Authorities believe the infant’s demise was caused by a dog bite. Meanwhile, a 31-year-old woman suffered an arm wound during the event and received medical care at a hospital.
Following the incident, both canines were examined by a specialist officer. The assessment concluded that neither dog belonged to a banned breed. The police force has not yet disclosed further details about the circumstances leading to the attack.
