Brent Spiner gained fame for portraying Data, a sentient android on Star Trek: The Next Generation, which aired from 1987 to 1994. The series, led by Patrick Stewart as Captain Jean-Luc Picard, featured Spiner alongside Whoopi Goldberg and LeVar Burton in the original cast.
