Woman Charged with Attempted Murder of Rihanna
Rihanna faces attempted murder charges following a shooting incident at her Los Angeles residence. Ivanna Lisette Ortiz, 35, from Orlando, Florida, appeared in court on Tuesday after bullets were fired at the singer’s home.
The attack occurred on Sunday afternoon while Rihanna was at home with her partner, A$AP Rocky, their three young children, and her mother. No one was injured during the event.
Preliminary charges against Ortiz include 10 counts of assault using a semiautomatic weapon and three incidents of gunfire directed at occupied vehicles or buildings. The shooting charges relate to Rihanna’s residence, her trailer, and her neighbor’s property.
Ortiz’s lawyer, Jamarcus Bradford, initially pleaded not guilty on her behalf but later withdrew the plea before an arraignment set for later this month. She is currently held on $1.8 million bail.
The hearing took place in a courthouse adjacent to where A$AP Rocky had his trial last year. No further details, including potential motives, were disclosed during the proceedings.
