Authorities have detained a man on suspicion of murder following a stabbing incident at a Milton Keynes retail complex. Thames Valley Police confirmed the arrest on Sunday, detailing the events that unfolded at Centre:MK around 5:10 pm on Saturday.
The 52-year-old male victim, who was pronounced dead at the scene, was initially taken to a hospital for treatment. Despite intensive medical interventions, he did not survive. The suspect, a 50-year-old resident of Towcester, is currently held in police custody.
Investigations are ongoing, with officers advising that the area will remain cordoned off until further details emerge. “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of all those affected. We appreciate your patience and understanding at this time,” a statement from the police force noted.
“A scene will remain in place while officers carry out enquiries.”
The coroner has been notified of the incident, though the victim’s identity has not been officially released. Family liaison officers are assisting the next of kin, providing emotional support during this difficult period.
