Savannah Guthrie returns to NBC’s Today show, as search for mother goes on
Savannah Guthrie Returns to NBC’s Today Show Amid Ongoing Search for Mother
Savannah Guthrie is set to rejoin the morning news team at NBC’s Today show this Monday. Her return marks her first studio appearance since January 30, when her 84-year-old mother, Nancy, was reported missing. The search for Nancy continues, with her last known sighting being her drop-off at home by family members on the evening of January 31.
Although Nancy vanished without her medications, investigators believe she was abducted from her Tucson, Arizona residence. No clear motive or suspect has been identified yet. In February, the family offered a $1 million reward for information leading to her safe recovery.
Guthrie had paused her duties as a Today co-anchor following the incident, temporarily stepping away from both the show and NBC’s Winter Olympics coverage. Last month, she told Today: “I can’t not come back. This is my family.” She also speculated that her own public profile might have played a role in her mother’s disappearance, a theory she found difficult to accept.
On Easter Sunday, Guthrie shared a message of faith from Good Shepherd New York, where she participated in a virtual service. “I still believe. And so I say with conviction, ‘Happy Easter,'” she declared in her closing remarks.
“I still believe. And so I say with conviction, ‘Happy Easter,'” she said in her closing message at the end of the Easter Sunday service.
The NBC presenter, known for her prominent role in US morning television, has remained a central figure in the search for her missing mother, balancing personal resolve with professional responsibilities.
