Murder charge over Primrose Hill stabbing

A 21-year-old man, Finbar Sullivan, has been charged with murder after being stabbed to death in Primrose Hill. The incident occurred near a scenic overlook in north London on Tuesday. The Metropolitan Police confirmed that Oliuwadamilola Ogunyankinnu, 27, from Southbury Road in Enfield, was arrested on Friday and formally accused of murder on Sunday.

Arrest and Charges

Ogunyankinnu is scheduled to appear at Stratford Magistrates’ Court on Monday. Meanwhile, a 25-year-old man arrested on suspicion of aiding the perpetrator has been released without further charges. The police stated that their inquiry into the case remains active.

Victim’s Background

Sullivan, who studied film at the London Screen Academy, was remembered by loved ones as a bright and influential figure. His father, Chris Sullivan, 65, shared his grief with BBC London, calling his son “the light” and “the leader” among friends. “His friends’ parents cherished him, which makes this loss even more devastating,” he added.

“All of his friends said he was the light, the leader. His friends’ parents loved him. This is why it’s so tragic,” said Chris Sullivan.

Other Injured Individual

Officers also found a man in his 20s with stab wounds on Regent’s Park Road the same day. He was hospitalized but his injuries were deemed non-life-threatening and not severe enough to alter his future.
