Ex-England and Liverpool footballer Andy Carroll faces trial next year ‘after breaching non-molestation order by repeatedly calling TOWIE star ex-wife Billi Mucklow’
Andy Carroll, Ex-England and Liverpool Star, Set for 2025 Trial Over Non-Molestation Order Breach
Former England and Liverpool footballer Andy Carroll is set to face a trial in 2025 over allegations of breaching a non-molestation order with his ex-spouse, Billi Mucklow, a TOWIE star. The court order, typically issued to prevent unwanted contact, was enforced by the Family Court at Chelmsford Justice Centre on October 10, 2024.
Carroll, now playing for National League South club Dagenham and Redbridge, is accused of repeatedly contacting Ms. Mucklow without reasonable cause on March 11, 2025. His arrest at Stansted Airport on April 27, 2024, followed an alleged violation of the order. The judge noted his absence during the plea session, stating, “I will schedule the trial for two days on January 18, 2025.”
In Carroll’s absence, Judge Chris Morgan remarked, “For all we know he could be in France or Dubai, who knows?”
During the hearing, prosecutor Leanne Hemming informed the court that Carroll’s legal team had claimed the session was postponed to March 4. The judge then adjourned the arraignment accordingly. Carroll last appeared at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court on February 4, 2024, using crutches, where he expressed his intent to plead not guilty to the breach.
Carroll’s marriage to Ms. Mucklow, which lasted two years, ended in July 2024. Divorce proceedings began the following September, and they share three children: sons Arlo and Wolf, and daughter Marve. Ms. Mucklow’s television career includes stints on The Only Way is Essex from 2011 to 2013, with a brief return in 2018.
Following his separation from Ms. Mucklow in 2024, Carroll is now dating make-up artist Lou Teasdale, 42, whom they reportedly met at the Glastonbury Festival last June. His professional journey saw him move from Newcastle to Liverpool for a then Anfield record of £35 million in 2011, earning nine England caps between 2010 and 2012. He also played for West Ham, Reading, and West Bromwich Albion before joining Dagenham and Redbridge in July 2024.
A spokesperson for Essex Police confirmed that Carroll, 36, of Epping, was arrested on April 27, 2024, after landing in the UK from France. He was questioned at Stansted Airport and temporarily detained, as recounted by a source to the Sun. The incident caused some commotion due to the presence of other passengers nearby.
The potential consequences for breaching a non-molestation order range from a fine to a maximum of five years in prison. Carroll’s absence during the plea hearing highlights the ongoing legal challenges he faces as his case progresses toward a January 2025 trial.
