With over 60 years of experience in broadcasting, Holmes has held numerous roles across major networks. He began his career in Northern Ireland, presenting on UTV’s Good Evening Ulster. In 1993, he transitioned to GMTV, which launched its first episode that year, and stayed with the network until 2005. Holmes later joined Sky News as a morning show host before co-hosting ITV’s This Morning with Ruth Langsford, his wife, from 2010 to 2024. A spokesperson noted that the couple “announced their decision to end the marriage and are proceeding with divorce proceedings.”
