The political landscape in Texas remains competitive following Talarico’s March primary victory over Rep. Jasmine Crockett. While Talarico secured more than six percentage points in the Democratic primary, Crockett performed strongly in counties with substantial Black populations, including Harris County, which encompasses Houston, as well as Dallas County. Meanwhile, Talarico captured a majority of Hispanic voters during the same primary contest.

Against Republican nominee Ken Paxton, Talarico currently holds favor with sixty-one percent of Hispanic voters.
