Hunter Biden Reveals Secret Service Protection Withdrawn Following Social Media Post by Laura Loomer
Hunter Biden says Secret Service protection – According to recent statements, Hunter Biden disclosed that his Secret Service security detail was removed after conservative media personality Laura Loomer circulated an image online showing him alongside his family members during a trip to South Africa. The incident occurred following a podcast appearance where Biden discussed the circumstances surrounding the security change.
The Podcast Revelation
On July 7, Hunter Biden participated in an episode of the podcast series titled “Friends Keep Secrets.” The episode featured producer Benny Blanco, rapper Lil Dicky, and Blanco’s wife Kristin Batalucco as guests. During the conversation, Biden explained that he and his wife Melissa had traveled to South Africa because they were unable to return to their Malibu residence at that time. This situation arose while the Palisades fire was actively burning through Los Angeles in the early months of 2025.
Biden recounted the sequence of events that led to the security detail being withdrawn. He noted that after spending a day in South Africa, Loomer posted a photograph on her X social media platform featuring him, his son, and Melissa in Cape Town. In her post, Loomer expressed frustration, stating that it was “ridiculous” that a “criminal” like Hunter Biden still possessed Secret Service protection while enjoying a vacation at taxpayer expense.
“And we were there for a day and Laura Loomer put out on her X [social platform] picture of me and my son and Melissa in Cape Town and said, ‘This is ridiculous, this criminal still has Secret Service and they’re on vacation and we’re paying for it,’ and the next day, the president canceled the Secret Service, which is fine,” Biden said.
Broader Implications and Family Security
During the same podcast episode, Biden mentioned that his parents would retain their Secret Service protection indefinitely. Producer Benny Blanco also inquired whether Hunter was the first individual to experience the removal of his security detail. Following the episode, Loomer shared a video clip of Biden’s comments regarding the protection withdrawal, adding the caption “LOOMERED” to the post.
In a separate social media message published on Monday, Loomer defended her actions and claimed credit for the security change. She questioned why removing Hunter Biden’s Secret Service protection should be viewed negatively when the service was funded by American taxpayers. Loomer characterized the arrangement as “a total scam of the American people” and stated that she had successfully ended it. She further remarked that she honestly believed she deserved recognition for her efforts, despite receiving criticism in return.
“How is me getting Hunter Biden’s Secret Service protection removed a bad thing when it was paid for by taxpayers?” she wrote in a separate post on Monday, taking credit for having the Bidens’ Secret Service protection removed. “… It was a total scam of the American people and I stopped it. Honestly, I deserve a medal. But all I get is s––– talk.”
Timeline of Events
Loomer had previously posted on X on March 13, noting that Biden was located in South Africa. In that post, she accused him of “fleeing the country” after informing a judge that he lacked the financial resources to cover his legal expenses. She also confirmed in a comment to her post that Hunter Biden had Secret Service personnel accompanying him during his time in South Africa.
Within the following week, President Trump announced that the Secret Service detail for both Hunter Biden and his sister Ashley Biden had been withdrawn. This decision aligned with a broader pattern of Trump revoking protective details for various former government officials. Previously, Trump had removed security arrangements for former Defense Secretary Mark Esper, former national security adviser John Bolton, former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, Dr. Anthony Fauci, and former envoy to Iran Brian Hook.
The situation highlights the intersection of social media influence and government security decisions, as well as the ongoing scrutiny surrounding Hunter Biden’s public life and legal matters. Loomer’s role in bringing attention to the issue demonstrates how online personalities can impact official policies through viral content and public pressure.
