Two more murder arrests after 14-year-old boy shot dead
Following the fatal shooting of a 14-year-old boy in south-east London, authorities have made additional arrests in connection with the incident. Eghosa Ogbebor succumbed to his injuries at the scene after being shot on Lord Warwick Street in Woolwich around 15:40 BST on Thursday. The Metropolitan Police confirmed that a 16-year-old boy and a 19-year-old man were detained on Saturday, while a 46-year-old man was also arrested for suspected involvement in aiding the perpetrator.
Earlier on Friday, three individuals—two boys aged 14 and 16, and an 18-year-old man—were taken into custody on murder charges. However, they were all released on bail. Det Ch Insp Lucie Card, leading the investigation, stated:
“Our team of dedicated detectives is ongoing their investigation into Eghosa’s tragic death, with inquiries still in progress. Residents in Woolwich may have noticed heightened police activity last night as officers apprehended three further suspects in the case. We appreciate the concern Eghosa’s death has sparked, especially within the local community, who will continue to see increased police presence in the area.”
The detective urged anyone with information about the incident or witnessing unusual activity in the vicinity to reach out to the police.
